The IL-TOP-2231/2232 is an intrinsic safety design valve positioner. It receives instructions from PLC/DCS or other automatic control systems, such as 0/4-20mA, 0-5V/10V to work, at the same time feedback the current valve position signal to PLC/DCS and other automatic control systems. It can also communicate through IO-Link or MOD BUS RS485 version bus.

What is a valve positioner? What's the function?

DONJOY valve positioner IL-TOP is a device that is used to control the flow of pneumatic control valve. It is a type of a feedback system that controls the valve position and adjusts it to a desired setpoint. The function of a valve positioner is to ensure that the valve opens and closes at the exact position and time required to meet the system's requirements.

The valve positioner receives a signal from the controller PID and then positions the valve actuator accordingly. It adjusts the valve actuator's position until the valve is at the desired position.
